Where is my journal stored?

On your device only. There's no account, so we never see it. That also means you should keep a backup.

How do I back up, or move to a new phone?

Open Friends → Your journal → Save a backup. This makes one file with every encounter and label photo. In the iPhone and Android apps, the share sheet opens: choose Save to Files, Google Drive, or send it to yourself. On the new device, open the same screen and choose Restore from a backup. Restoring adds what's missing and never overwrites what's already there.

How do I fix or delete an entry?

Open the wine, then Edit on the moment. You can change anything, or delete the moment.

How do I delete all my data?

Friends → Your journal → Delete everything on this device. It asks first. Uninstalling the app removes everything too. We keep no copy, so there is nothing else to delete.

Why does VinoEarth ask for my location?

To note where you had a wine, so it appears on your globe. It's used only while you add a wine. You can say no and type the place instead.

The geology or the weather looks wrong for my wine.

Geology comes from regional geologic maps, which can be too coarse for a single vineyard, and the vineyard pin may sit at the centre of its appellation. If something looks off, let us know which wine.

Is my data shared with anyone?

No, unless you share a moment yourself. See the privacy policy for the few services the app talks to.
